I find nature to be one of my inspirations.
Jackson Hole Wyoming was my home for many years. Being surrounded by nature, fuels my creativity. Currently, Cape Cod is my home, where colors and scenery of the ocean influence my art.
History and travel also impact my artwork.
A week long experience exploring Santa Fe and Taos New Mexico Native American, Anglo, and English culture.
Exploring the ways museums reinforce their values, and exploring varied ways that museum educators can engage audiences in museums.
As an art educator my goal is to teach grades K-12 and to provide: well-structured lessons that incorporate the Massachusetts State and National Standards, student engagement strategies, safe learning environment, and encourage and inspire students to grow in their artistic ability. I agree with the Choice Based Art Education approach, creating opportunities to select ideas, interests, and medium for student directed learning. Daily goals include lesson objectives that allows students to learn self-reliance and responsibility in the classroom. Collaboration with other instructors is welcomed to integrate art projects with academic lessons. Students will apply the elements of art and principles of design in their artwork. Throughout the school year students explore a range of media for example, 2D and 3D fine art, graphic design, craft, ceramics, and the history of art. Historic and contemporary artists are reviewed prior to each lesson, which connect the artist’s work to a variety of themes and cultures for inspiration. Lessons also incorporate technology such as Google Suites, Word, PowerPoint, Photoshop, and Zoom.
